Did you know the month of May is Mental Health Awareness Month?
I had no idea until a few days ago. Interestingly enough I have struggled mentally in the past few months. But I am now in a better place.
Our Mental health is so vital to our overall well-being as humans. yet it is often something we don’t pay attention to until crisis hits.
Our minds are key to how we think, process information and events, and how we as individuals interpret what we experience daily.
So imagine how complex it is and yet we often treat it roughly. Hoping it will hold up to all the stress, pain, and discomforts we encounter.

We oftentimes overload it with stimuli and hardly give it a chance to breathe and reignite and remain the powerhouse it is.
I have found out the hard way in recent times that when you don’t give your mind some tender loving care you end up shortchanging yourself and shooting yourself in the foot.
Going forward I am being more intentional about my mental health. I know I tend to be anxious. That means I have to work on reducing anxiety.
One way I am doing that is by being more thankful. Also by taking breaks and just relaxing. I am also trying to eat more healthy foods and take supplements when needed.
In a few months, I turn 40 and I am determined to become a more healthier version of myself.
How well are you taking care of your mental health? It’s not too late to start making changes.
