I still can’t believe it’s been a month since I turned 40. How time flies when you are busy living.

Do I feel any different? Yes and No. I had already started to make changes in my lifestyle months before I turned 40.

However it is clear that I have entered into a new era of my life. I am living life more intentionally. I am tired of letting situations like PCOS hold me captive. I am taking control of what I can and that includes my faith, health, my finances, my career, my appearance and style and so many other aspects of my life.

But back to my special day. I am not really the girl who has big bashes for my birthdays. The last time I celebrated my birthday with a few friends or family was when I turned 21 when I was still a student at Biola University. It was a surprise get together that meant a lot to me.

Often times I spend my birthdays with my Sister, my Childhood Best Friend or one or two of my cousins. As an introvert it is the perfect way to celebrate my day.

But for my 40th Birthday, I wanted to celebrate it. Thankfully my parents were going to around.

We ended up renting an Airbnb for a few days. My Sisters came through for me. Thankfully I am blessed with super-talented siblings. One took my beautiful photos at a photo shoot, two days before my birthday.

The other designed and sewed three outfits. I used one at the photo shoot and wore one on my birthday.

The Photoshoot was revealing as it confirmed I didn’t know how to pose for pictures. It was my niece and my Father who got me to loosen up a bit.

Having my parents at my photoshoot was awesome. It was also their celebration. Having your first child turn 40 is a milestone worth celebrating.

My birthday was on a Sunday. So we went to Church as a family. After Church, we had breakfast and then started to get ready for the small together we had organised.

It was so amazing to have family and friends drop by to celebrate the day with me. What was so amazing as well as the calls I got from loved ones far and near.

I had an amazing 40th Birthday Celebration and it was a reminder of how much I am loved. It was a great way to also launch out into the next phase of my life.

And now it’s time to begin doing the work of living the life I want. I believe that I am
